Gregg Brill was born in the Eastern Cape in South Africa and spent much of his early childhood brought up on a dairy farm. It was here that a keen interest in nature was foundered. Gregg has travelled to over 60 countries across six continents, and has lived in four of them. Whenever he travels, he explores coral reefs, tropical rain forests and mountain tops in search of inspiration for this artworks. Gregg has a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Town. He uses his science background in all of his works, bringing in elements of physics, chemistry and mathematics to complement the works. Each piece has a strong tie to nature, through numbers, textures and balance. He has produced large-scale art installations and nature-inspired artworks and lighting for luxury hotels, lodges and homes around the world. Gregg is also an awarded orchid grower and drives orchid conservation in numerous places in South Africa.
